We are offering a fantastic opportunity for a skilled and experienced Senior Operations Manager to join our team in Sheffield, overseeing our "Streets Ahead" Project. As part of this project, you will be responsible for upgrading and maintaining the city's roads, pavements, street lighting, bridges, and street scene over a 25-year contract period.
As the Senior Operations Manager, you will report directly to the Account Director and will be responsible for driving exceptional P&L and balance sheet performance for a defined area within our Sheffield Highways contract.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing and shaping the contract business plan for your defined area, aligned with the contract strategy and in collaboration with the BD and contract team.
- Managing the P&L and balance sheet for your designated area, striving to deliver and improve agreed margins and cash flows.
- Leading, reviewing, and challenging budgets and forecasts to ensure a consistent and achievable approach.
- Monitoring and managing the performance of your area through regular site visits, performance reviews, and interpretation of management information.
- Fostering service excellence across the account by maximizing efficiency, sharing best practices, seeking profit improvement opportunities, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
- Cultivating strong customer relationships, understanding and anticipating client requirements, and contributing to a culture of customer-centricity.
- Managing supplier relationships and leading a talented team of 50 to 100 individuals.
We want to hear from you if you have:
- Demonstrated accountability and decision-making within a contract environment.
- Proficiency in customer relationship management.
- Strong IT and data analysis skills.
- Ability to understand and implement commercial contracts.
- A clear understanding of the industry and market dynamics.
- A proven track record of implementing and meeting targets.
- Demonstrated ability to manage, develop, and motivate teams.
- Excellent communication, relationship management, and influencing skills.
- Experience supporting a P&L account and managing resources.
- Previous experience creating and implementing local-level business plans.
- Significant contribution to bids or mobilization processes.
- Experience in managing business improvement or change management projects.
- Experience in managing health and safety.
