The Commercial Finance Director, is a pivotal new role to drive the commercial decisions for Churchill Services. The Commercial Finance Director will report into the Group Chief Financial Officer and will build and lead a team of financial business partners across all part of our business. Partnering with the business at senior level, the Commercial Finance Director will ensure the provision of proactive, dynamic and focused commercial finance expertise through first class analysis and interpretation of financial information to influence the business with corrective actions and help steer profitable growth.
No two days will be the same. When you’re dealing with people there’s never a dull moment, and you’ll use your strong interpersonal skills to support and develop the business.
As Commercial Finance Director you’ll be:
- Co-ordinating management reporting activities, challenging performance and co-ordinating all reporting.
- Managing the production of value adding financial analysis and drive the continual development of this activity across the business.
- Setting KPI’S to track overall business performance through factors such as revenue and margin trends and market intelligence.
- Developing the UK management reporting strategy enabling it to be standardised where appropriate.
- Supporting the continual improvement of the budgeting and strategic plans.
- Ensuring that the team is a highly capable, driven finance team through training, development, support and mentoring.
- Operating as the Chief Analyst of the business, with the ability to ask challenging questions
- Participating as a key member of the Churchill Leadership team driving the right cultures and behaviours across the wider organisation
As Commercial Finance Director you’ll have:
- Graduate, qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent qualification with substantial post qualified experience within a multi-site environment.
- Strong analytical skills with advanced data competencies and a strong commercial acumen.
- A strong team player, you will manage and mentor a team to achieve their targets and goals.
- Experience within a multi-site fast-paced, high volume and dynamic FMCG/Retail or corporate business
- Thorough understanding and knowledge of financial operations and processes as well as accounting practices and principles.
- Evidence of implementing demonstrable process improvements.
- This is a Senior Management Team role – gravitas, passion and the ability to drive a high profile and complex agenda is essential.
This is a key role which sits on the Finance SLT with good visibility and exposure to C-suite/operating board. Your ability to work in an evolving, fast paced organisation will be key.
