Security Officer role - Cardiff
Hourly rate: £10.90
Responsible for the security and safety of all visitors and staff at corporate premises and to protect the client and tenants by following standard operating procedures and assignment instructions. Ensure that these expectations are understood, met and exceeded and that excellent customer service emanates through your responsibilities.
Working Days, Nights, Weekends 46 hours per week.
Main Duties
- Assist and monitor the Security Team to respond to incidents.
- Monitor access and egress of personnel and respond to breaches.
- Ensure that all incidents, which occur during the course of your duties, are reported promptly and recorded within the guidelines laid down by Corporate Security and efficiently dealt with.
- Ensure integrity of the security systems is maintained.
- Comply with data protection guidelines regarding disclosure of personal and confidential information held on the security databases.
- Conduct a patrol of the premises using CCTV internally noting results in the patrol book.
- Conduct regular internal and external perimeter building patrols.
- Prevent unauthorised access into the building.
- Staff should be aware of suspect packages being deposited in and around the precinct of the building and should make themselves aware of the separate procedure to be adopted should such a devise be discovered.
- Assist in the training of team members.
- Monitor the electronic security systems on site.
- Liaise with the client, police and other agencies as necessary.
- Produce reports on false alarms and response times.
- Cover the reception and turnstiles as directed at locations listed within the Assignment Instructions.
- Co-ordinate and prioritise incidents from a Control Room.
- Undertake operation of all equipment and cameras to comply with the CCTV Code of Practice, on rotating 24 hour shift patterns, 365 days a year, including weekend and bank holidays.
- Any other duties deemed to be appropriate or necessary to the post.
What we are looking for
- Valid SIA Licence.
- CCTV License or experience is highly preferred.
- Corporate experience preferred but not essential.
- Good communication (both written and oral) and customer service skills.
- Experience in working within a team as well as on your own.
- Demonstrable proactive and professional approach to security.
- Ability to operate in a pressurised environment.
- Attention to detail, proactive and excellent time management.
