Job objectives and responsibilities

London Stock Exchange Group sits at the heart of the world's financial community. The Group operates a broad range of international equity, bond and derivatives markets, including London Stock Exchange; LCH.Clearnet, the leading multi-national clearing house serving major exchanges and platforms as well as a range of OTC markets; Borsa Italiana; MTS, Europe's leading fixed income market; and Turquoise, offering UK and Russian derivatives trading, pan-European and US lit and dark equity trading. Through its markets, the Group offers international business unrivalled access to Europe's capital markets.


The London Stock Exchange Property Services Department are tasked with ensuring that the Group's property strategy reflects the over-arching corporate objectives and that all operational premises are fit for purpose. However, as well as looking after the physical office environment, the department is also responsible for providing the services to that environment that enable staff to work as productively as possible.

Main duties

Core responsibility will be focused managing the LSEG PSOC and all of its workstreams, including: Incident Management, intelligence monitoring, travel security management. in line with the Group Physical Security Policy and Physical Security Standards.


  • PSOC Management: The post holder will be responsible for leading the PSOC including all aspects of the daily operational management, recruitment and staff development, ensuring KPIs are met and consistently delivered, creation and development and training of Security Operational procedures.
  • The post holder will also be responsible for the Management, support and development of the PSOC Manager.

  • Incident Management: Ensure that PSOC provides a consistent level of service when facilitating Incident Management response and that any changes or improvements to the process are implemented in a timely manner. This includes post-incident review process and continuous improvement.
  • The post holder will also be expected to be part of the on call rotation along with the wider management team.
  • Ongoing liaison and coordination with the regional Security Leads and Security Operations Centres for incident management, Alarm monitoring, business continuity, including all aspects of cross-training.

  • Intelligence and threat analysis: Oversee PSOC's intelligence monitoring activities and work closely with the dedicated intelligence analyst to coordinate worksteams. The post holder will also be a key stakeholder in defining the new intelligence framework for the Group Physical Security.

  • Travel security: As well as shared responsibility in the management and liaison with the 3rd party travel risk management partner, the post holder will be responsible for ensuring that travel to high risk destinations is appropriately risk assessed, mitigation put in place to treat identified risks, ensuring the traveller receives appropriate briefing and training from the third-party specialist travel risk provider. The person will also oversee PSOC activities around proactive traveller outreach and contribute to raising travel security awareness across the organisation.

Travel incident management: The post holder will also be integral to decisions made, in conjunction with the travel risk provider, during ongoing escalation or evacuation scenarios, including but not limited to:

  • Travellers requiring planned or unplanned assistance whilst travelling on business
  • Monitoring and liaising with third party providers during escalating scenarios to ensure travellers have support required; and raising through management and business continuity channels as appropriate.

  • Relevant security/risk management qualification

Desirable:

  • Membership of a relevant professional body

PERSONAL SKILLS


  • Communicator: The post holder will be a capable and confident communicator (written and verbal) – with the ability to engage with colleagues at all levels
  • Business understanding: Demonstrate a grasp of balance between physical security and business requirements
  • Personality: A flexible and agile approach to often last-minute changes to requirements, a positive disposition and genuine can-do attitude is a definite requirement
  • Organiser: Capable of implementing and maintaining innovative / modern business processes

SKILLS


  • Security operator: An experienced security operator able to list previous incidents successfully dealt with in the course of duty.
  • Security manager: Practical experience in general security management.
  • Travel Security: Practical experience in Travel Security
  • Project manager: Ability to demonstrate projects successfully managed – security-related or other
  • Policy and procedure: Merging confident operational knowledge with good written skills – a capable writer, able to succinctly convey requirements to security operations teams and general employees.
  • Contract management: Experienced contract manager, previous exposure to tender process beneficial.
  • Finance: General understanding of budget processes and invoicing, with experience using purchasing systems.
  • Technology: A solid understanding of physical security technology, both hardware and software is a must-have, alongside slick use of the basic Microsoft Windows package.
  • Period of service in the security industry will not be regarded in isolation as indicative of capability for this role. However, the post holder will have carried out suitable roles for reasonable periods within the security discipline to be able to prove acceptable level of experience.

Health and Safety responsibilities

  • Follow Group and company policies and procedures at all times;
  • Report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment provided that may result in failure of service delivery or risk to health and safety or the environment;
  • Use all work equipment and personal PPE properly and in accordance with training received;

Report any issues or training needs to your Line manager and /or via your divisional incident reporting system
