Pay rate: £30,000 – £34,000 pro rata
Hours: 37.5 hours Monday to Friday
Shift Times: 7.5 hours shifts / 9am to 5pm

King Edward VII Hospital, a prestigious private healthcare institution in London, is seeking a talented and dedicated Credit Controller to join our finance team. About Us:
We are a 56-bedded acute hospital specialising in Colorectal, Urology, Orthopaedics, Men’s Health and Women’s Health which is provided by a friendly, professional and supportive team who are focused on being a centre of excellence for a wide variety of surgical procedures and treatments. You will be part of a team that cares for a wide range of surgical patients.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the credit control function for the hospital, ensuring timely collection of outstanding debts and minimisation of bad debts
- Monitor and review customer accounts to identify overdue payments and take appropriate actions
- Contact customers via phone, email, and written correspondence to follow up on outstanding payments and resolve any payment-related queries
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all communications and transactions with customers
- Collaborate with other departments, such as billing and accounts receivable, to resolve any issues impacting the payment process
- Conduct credit checks on new customers and establish credit limits in accordance with company policies
- Prepare reports and analysis related to credit control activities for management review
- Stay updated with industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to credit control
Requirements:
- Previous experience in credit control or a similar role, preferably in the healthcare or medical industry
- Strong knowledge of credit control principles, procedures, and best practices
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally and effectively with customers
- Strong negotiation and problem-solving abilities to handle customer queries and resolve payment issues
- Proficiency in using financial software systems and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
- Detail-oriented with excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- A proactive and self-motivated individual who can work independently as well as part of a team
- A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive financial information with integrity
- Relevant qualifications in finance or accounting will be an advantage
