About the role:
We are looking for a results-driven, detail-oriented individual to fill the role of Library Sales Representative, overseeing partnerships with academic institutions in the United States. The position is full-time, with up to 30% travel. We are a growing group responsible for selling digital books, journals, and services to academic institutions across the Americas. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to broaden their experience in academic publishing and sales.
Digital product sales requires an increasingly balanced approach, combining data-driven techniques with strong communication, listening, and relationship-building skills. Our ideal candidate is a quick learner, personable, adaptable, and a self-starter; comfortable both with team work and working independently. Also vital to the role are strong organizational skills, tenacity, and the ability to proactively problem solve and seek solutions.
Cambridge's Library Sales team supports a diverse market of academic institutions within the Americas and strive to grow our customer base over the coming years. We are a lean but passionate group, with a strong sense of work-life balance and humor, based in the NYC area. About you:
- You are a diverse thinker with diverse interests – and are interested in sales and scholarly publishing
- You are organized and results-driven, able to build, grow, and convert a strong sales pipeline
- You have a proven record of results-oriented work
- You're at ease in front of internal and external customers
- You're comfortable working with new systems, processes, and programs including client relationship management systems (Salesforce or similar) and Excel
- You're a responsive and proactive communicator and problem solver – with a strong sense of customer service
- You can work independently, as well as within a group
- Previous experience in publishing and/or sales preferred but not required
- You must have a valid driver's license
