The Job:
Saab Seaeye is currently recruiting for a Production and Process Engineer within the Operations Department on a permanent contract to join an experienced and enthusiastic team near Portsmouth where we manufacture Remotely Operated Underwater Vehicles and deployment systems (ROVs).
Key accountabilities and responsibilities:
Lead NPI and prototyping activities providing the link between the design authority and manufacturing.
Conceptualise processes and flows to highlight opportunities, challenges and requirements.
Developing, optimising and implementing factory floor layouts/production cells.
Use data to continuously improve existing processes and workflows.
Clearly communicate ideas and show your thinking.
Owning the manufacturing BOM & Routings.
Developing production build processes, operator instructions and specific training.
Providing technical support for production and production control.
Knowledge and use of Lean Tools, problem solving and implementing continuous improvements, 6S, root cause investigations and new product development.
General accountabilities and responsibilities:
Establish effective working relationships across the technical teams and with the manufacturing team.
Use personal judgement and initiative to develop effective and constructive solutions to challenges and obstacles in day to day activities and procedures within the specified role.
To maintain personal ability in, and appropriate use of, all relevant IT (Information and Technology) and other systems required to adequately perform the role.
Assessing compliance and adherence to safety/quality standards.
Lead projects from the production team, seek and promote positive, impactful change.
