Greater Manchester Police are recruiting experienced fully qualified Full and Part time Business Accountants into its newly restructured Finance Branch to provide a high quality, comprehensive financial service that meets customer requirements and enables the Force to achieve its strategic and operational objectives. This exciting opportunity will allow you to play a key part in supporting our officers and staff across a number of business areas within the Financial Operations and Strategic Finance and Compliance teams where you will ensure the delivery of an efficient and effective strategic accounting service to all stakeholders.
To apply for this role, you must be a member of a Professional Institute and Consultative Committee of Accountancy Bodies (CCAB), qualified with significant post qualification experience in a large complex organisation.
The Finance branch is a fast paced environment and it is essential that you are able to maintain a strategic overview of all financial activity within your assigned area of business and have a proven ability to prioritise work effectively to meet a number of deadlines.
A team player with excellent communication and engagement skills with colleagues and customers at all levels, you must also have experience of working in a devolved financial management environment, attending regular meetings with budget/stakeholders to provide advice and discuss performance. Additionally, you must be able to demonstrate that you have and maintain a knowledge of up to date accounting principles and financial governance and you must be experienced in the use of computerised financial systems and spreadsheets if you are to be successful in your application.
