Here is a summary: Deliver a high quality service to service users ensuring that they are treated at all times with dignity and respect. Undertake evidence based psychological assessments of service users with complex mental health, substance use, physical health and social problems applying psychological interventions including self-report measures, rating scales, direct and indirect structured observations and semi-structured interviews with service users and others involved in the service users care. Assist in the formulation, delivery and evaluation of care plans involving the psychological treatment and/or management of a service users problems, under the supervision of a qualified clinical psychologist, including simple procedures and techniques related to psychology therapies.
Communicate sensitive diagnosis and treatment related information to service users using highly developed communication skills to overcome barriers to understanding. Participate in and facilitate therapeutic group work programmes. Within the scope of confidentiality communicate and liaise with service users, clinical/prison staff, local authorities, primary care teams and other statutory bodies and third sector agencies. Assist in the development of evidence and psychologically based framework of understanding and care to the benefit all service users of the service.
