HR Advisor - Operations
Location: Harrogate (Hybrid office 2 days a week working form and other sites remainder of the week)
Salary: £25-30,000 + benefits
Contract: Initial 12 month FTC
Our Client is growing and is seeking a highly ambitious and capable HR Advisor to join their growing team. In this initial 12 month FTC, you will serve as both an ER advisor and HR Co-ordinator to support the HR and Operational teams.
We're currently recruiting a high performing HR Advisor to join our Client’s HR team in their newly acquired, growing organisation. You'll proactively support with all ER issues, offering guidance and coaching to the multi-site leadership teams. Using your knowledge and your experience in a similar role, you'll think creatively in driving the HR agenda.
To be considered for the role of HR Advisor you’ll demonstrate a flexible approach to your work and responsibilities with the ability to support both operational and group activities.
This is an extraordinary opportunity for someone to progress their HR career with plenty of ER and generalist HR work to deliver alongside group projects to deliver which may include reward, HR systems, appraisal implementation (great if you are studying for your CIPD to use as strong case studies).
We’d love to speak with candidates with HR experience gained in retail, hospitality, manufacturing, logistics, water or utilities for this one.
The role:
- Support, coach and challenge line management with absence, disciplinary and grievance issues and getting to the true root cause of all ER matters
- Identify development opportunities to improve skills and build future talent
- Lead engaging, proactive communications across the sites
- Build positive and effective relationships with all staff
- Reinforce the visions and values in all aspects of work and act as a barometer to colleague morale
- Support and drive colleague engagement
- Contribute to projects on the Group HR plan
- Prepare recruitment offers and onboarding for new starters
- To create processes, to support new starters, leavers and changes to contracts of employment. Ensuring all starters, leavers and changes are legally compliant, processed efficiently and stored in an appropriate manner.
- To maintain all absence records across the organisation by working alongside senior stakeholders to ensure accuracy in information.
- To deliver the full suite of HR reports required across the monthly and yearly cycle.
- To support key projects as they arrive.
The person:
- Degree educated or equivalent plus CIPD qualified (or working towards)
- Up to date knowledge of employment legislation and have delivered proactive ER
- Must have the ability to work in a fast moving HR environment, with HR experience gained logistics, manufacturing, utilities, water, retail or hospitality sectors
- Experience of advising, supporting and coaching managers
- Driving license and able to travel between sites
- Proactive approach to continuous business improvements
- Experience of implementing processes
- Ability to act on own initiative
- Experience of problem solving
- Able to work independently and remotely.
- A real drive and ownership for all people information.
- Passion to find better ways to do things.
- Great at building relationships with all stakeholders, even during those challenges times we have in HR.
- IT literate, especially with experience of a HR system
- Great communication skills, both written & verbal
