We are currently looking for a Shift Production Operator to join our friendly team at Aberthaw Cement Plant in Barry.

The role of Shift Production Operator will be responsible for:
- Review equipment and production conditions in accordance with job plans
- Monitor, report and record any incident, abnormality or deviation based on an appropriate checklist.
- Ensure lubrication levels of machines are in accordance with manufacturer's specifications
- Carry out accurate stock measurements safely and report to the production Shift Supervisor and CRO.
- Manually start standby equipment and ensure they operate properly or stop equipment and report any abnormality according to working procedure
- Comply with all safety and environmental regulations. Lock out in case of emergencies, manage first level emergencies and give first aid.
- Ensure that housekeeping of the plant is in accordance with standards and report poor housekeeping practices
- Ensure additives and raw materials are available at the designed areas and in correct quantity
The ideal candidate for the role of Shift Production Operator will have experience of:
- Experience of working in a production environment or maintenance team
- High pressure water jetting certification
- Telescopic Fork Lift Truck certification
- A good mechanical understanding of heavy industry.
- Ability to carry out heavy manual work
- Comprehensive understanding of safety procedures and leads by example in relation to safety standards.
- Willingness to be flexible with work type and hours.
