Job Description

Level 2 Primary School Teaching Assistant in Sefton.

Are you passionate about learning and determined to make a real difference? We are seeking to appoint committed and inspirational Teaching Assistants who are able to obtain the best outcomes for our pupils.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Recording and reporting pupil's progress to the Teacher.
  • Establish good working relationships with pupils, acting as a role model.
  • Help pupils develop confidence, independence and encourage them to learn.
  • Work with specialist teaching services, medical staff, counsellors and psychologists.
  • Actively work with pupils towards their individual achievement and objectives and success measures.
  • Liaise with parents, carers and guardians when appropriate.
  • Be aware of and respond appropriately to individual pupil needs ensuring effective interaction.
  • Provide specific support to pupils depending upon their individual needs ensuring their safety whilst supporting access to learning activities.
  • Promote inclusion, self-esteem and independence and acceptance of all pupils.
  • Provide some clerical/administration support to the teacher.
  • Promote good behaviour and support learners to achieve learning goals.
Skills and Knowledge and Training:
  • Appropriately qualified and have relevant skills and experience in working with children.
  • Adaptable and able to work on their own initiative.
  • Committed to working in partnership with colleagues, other professionals and families.
  • Good personal numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Patience and ability build and maintain stressful relationships with pupils, treat them consistently, with respect and consideration, and demonstrate concern for their development as learners.
  • Sensitivity and Understanding.
  • To be able to carry out basic tasks on the computer or handwritten.
  • Confident to work in challenging environments and to manage challenging behaviour.
  • Non Judgemental, flexible, adaptable, resilient, calm, self-motivated and compassionate.
