Job Description

Job Title: Finance Analyst (Corporate Business Partnering & Cost Control)

Location: 100VE, UK

This role is part of the Global Cost Controller’s Team based in 100VE London and reports to the Global Cost Controller. The role supports key stakeholders and senior leadership within the Global Performance Management team and Global Departments. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a high potential, top talent in Unilever to become a pipeline for future promotable talent and develop as a seasoned global finance professional.


JOB PURPOSE

Total Overheads cost base for Unilever is approx. € 7 Bn. This includes Global as well as Local overheads cost. As a Finance Analyst (Corporate Business Partnering and Cost Control), you will partner with Global Corporate Centres, i.e. Corporate Finance, Corporate HR, Corporate Legal and CEO and Board team in short-term and long-term overheads cost management.

Throughout partnering with Global Corporate Centres and working with Global Performance Management team, you will focus to support overheads target framework, deliver overheads cost within budget, enable business partners to efficiently manage the costs and saving via delivering overheads cost analytics, managing overheads tool and technology, performing investment prioritization, working on transformation business cases and recommending strategic intervention.

You will also have opportunity to expand your experience and responsibility to lead or support ad-hoc strategic projects to unlock value and uplift overheads cost management process efficiency both short term and long term.

This role reports to Global Performance Management Manager and directly partners with multiple senior stakeholders in Corporate Centres, so it will offer a huge exposure to senior leaders in various Global Corporate teams. It also offers exciting real-life problem solving, corporate finance learning and business acumen development that you will gain continuously during the journey in the role.

RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role you will:

  • Lead business partnering role with Corporate budget holders in bringing an understanding of overheads cost, financial implication, and delivering cost control within the budget
  • Support long-term performance management agenda in building Corporate overheads budget, investment prioritization, and identify saving and productivity opportunity
  • Perform monthly overheads forecasts in partnership and sign-off with budget holders.
  • Complete monthly accrual review, monthly journal posting submission, and analyse cost reporting in collaboration with supporting hub and Data and Analytics team
  • Support analytical and cost analysis, business cases or special projects upon request from budget holders and Global Performance Management managers and director.
  • Work with the Finance Excellence Team and Data and Analytics team ensuring good visibility of Overheads cost data via our Overheads tools and technology OTIF
  • Ensure the right Overheads cost control governance and appropriate accounting recognition as per Unilever accounting standard.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with cross-functional business partners
  • Contribute to our culture of being collaborative, respectful, transparent, ethical, and efficient.

To succeed in this role, you will need


  • A strong academic, financial, and analytical background; Finance qualification (CIMA/ACCA fully/part qualified) or Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/Economics
  • Relevant years of related financial planning and analysis experience with increasing responsibility and control
  • Prior work experience in Cost Control, Data Analytics, Accounting, Financial Reporting, or Financial Planning is preferred
  • Strong analytical skills, high attention to detail and bias for action
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills including working with large amounts of data in Excel
  • Excellent communication skills (written and presentation)
  • Ability to directly work with business partners of varying seniority
  • Resilience in dealing with uncertainty; Problem solving for unstructured briefs and stretching deadlines from senior management
  • Strong work ethic and proactive mindset

Location
