We have an exciting new opportunity for a Team Manager to join our Integrated Design & Delivery (IDD) team. In this role you will lead and manage a new team of installation technicians and contractors of various disciplines (MEICA) in their activities to survey, design, procure and deliver low complexity/short duration asset replacement/enhancement across the water directorate.
To reflect our increased capital investment requirement, we are creating a new team of 7 multi-discipline technicians to complement the work delivered by our framework partners. This team will be dedicated to a programme of work aimed at reducing water quality risk (HAZREV). A close collaborative working relationship with all the involved teams is essential for successfully delivering this programme on time and budget. You'll be leading the implementation of this team in the NWL area.
You’ll be responsible for managing people and resources and maintaining the team's annual delivery plan, phasing the workload during the year, considering resource availability, procurement time, stakeholder’s requirement as well as opportunities to group task geography or by type of work.
You’ll be accountable for the team operating budget, ensuring that financial allocations to capital projects are accurate. You’ll review team performance indicators and support continuous improvements.
We are looking for someone with great team building skills, a strong focus on performance management and engagement, along with an ability and desire to create an open and positive working environment that people want to join.
About you
We’re looking for you to have previous experience of leading a multi discipline engineering team, or exhibit relevant leadership behaviours, and be confident in working with contract stakeholders across the business.
To be successful, you’ll need to demonstrate that you have excellent organisational and planning skills. You’ll be able to formulate a project plan, resource and implement the delivery phase.
Practical experience in a technical role is essential to support the team effectively.
A strong Health and Safety ethic is an important part of our Everybody Home Safe Everyday culture and knowledge of CDM regulations would be beneficial.
You’ll have excellent communication skills both written and verbally and be a strong team player. A good understanding of Microsoft office packages including Outlook e-mail, Excel, Word and MS project is desirable, but these skills can be developed with the right candidate.
A full, UK driving license is required for this role.
