The Firm
Wiseman Consulting Limited is supporting a long-term client and boutique firm based in The Cotswolds to secure a new Accounts Assistant for their Legal Finance team. This is a busy, demanding role where you will work on varied projects and interact with other members of the team. The work is rewarding and Accounts Assistants looking to gain further experience in the Legal field are strongly encouraged to apply.
The firm is a well-known family brand that has been operating in the region since the mid 1700’s. They have amassed a loyal client following with multiple generations of families using their services in Conveyancing, Private Client, Litigation and Family Law.
The firm has four offices centered around the Cotswolds but have recently opened an office in a picturesque location in Cheltenham. With the addition of the new office, they now require an Accounts Assistant to join them.
This firm, although traditional in nature, operates a forward-thinking approach to their legal services with an emphasis on client care and effective communication. They also support local charities and organisations such as Stow-on-the-Wold Rugby Club and Kate’s Nursing Home.
The Finance team is a core department for the business and works in close partnership with the Human Resources and Practice Management teams.
The Role
As a result of growth and the introduction of a 4th office, the firm is looking for an Accounts Assistant to join them.
Your daily duties will include.
- Processing all inward payments by reference to online banking service
- Posting entries for Office account, standing orders and direct debits
- Raising electronic payments requested by file holders, including property completions.
- Arranging payment of search fee invoices
- Posting of Land Registry entries and Court fees
- Posting of sales invoices, purchase ledger invoices and payments
- Making transfers between Client and Office accounts at the bank as required
- Complying with Solicitors Accounts Rules, Money Laundering Regulations and VAT requirements in all aspects of the role.
You will be experienced with;
- Knowledge of MS Office including Excel
- Ability to work under pressure working in partnership with a wider team.
- Knowledge of Accountancy in the Real Estate, Conveyancing or Legal sector
