The Community Recreation division is currently looking for their next Clerk – Leisure & Parks Services team member. The successful candidate will be responsible for generally supporting in an administrative capacity in a City facility or office. You will put forward your excellent organizational skills, and will be performing a wide variety of clerical, receptionist, accounting and cashiering duties. Further, you will utilize your excellent customer service skills to interact with members of the public in order to assist and provide them any information they require relating to the facility.
As the successful candidate, you will further supervise and review the work of clerical and cashier staff, as well as participate in training staff. Finally, you will use your strong initiative skills to make clerical decisions, while abiding by regulations and policies. If you would like to utilize your excellent administrative knowledge, and enjoy working with a variety of staff and the public, we look forward to your application!
The ideal candidate will have completed grade 12, including or supplemented by word-processing, typing and commercial courses. Preference may be given to courses completed in elementary accounting. Please note that an equivalent combination of training and experience may also be considered. A valid BC Driver’s License (with satisfactory driving record) is required.
The following are considered assets for the position:
- Previous work experience in an administrative capacity.
- Previous experience supervising staff.
- Previous work experience in a recreation setting.
- Previous work experience with a Point of Sale (POS) system.
- Previous work experience with a recreation registration system.

The City offers a CUPE hourly wage of $26.87 - $31.56 (2022 rates), as well as an excellent benefits package.
