Job Summary:
The Finance & Business Development Manager plays a crucial role in the financial management and strategic growth of the organization. This position involves overseeing financial operations, analysing financial data, and providing strategic recommendations to support business expansion and profitability. The Finance & Business Development Manager will work closely with senior management to develop and execute financial plans, budgeting, and forecasting. Additionally, the role involves identifying new business opportunities, conducting market research, and preparing business proposals to drive revenue growth and market presence. The Finance & Business Development Manager will also collaborate with various departments to optimize financial performance and align business strategies with organizational objectives.
Responsibilities:
Financial Management:
1. Financial Reporting: Prepare and present accurate and timely financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and financial performance analysis.
2. Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the development of annual budgets, monitor financial performance against budget, and prepare financial forecasts for strategic planning.
3. Cost Analysis: Conduct cost-benefit analysis and identify opportunities for cost optimization and efficiency improvement.
4. Financial Compliance: Ensure compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards, and tax requirements.
5. Financial Controls: Implement robust financial controls to safeguard company assets and minimize financial risks.
6. Cash Flow Management: Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure adequate liquidity for business operations.
Business Development:
7. Market Research: Conduct market research to identify potential business opportunities, market trends, and customer needs
8. Business Proposals: Prepare business proposals and financial models for new ventures, partnerships, and expansion initiatives.
9. Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients, addressing their financial needs and concerns.
10. Business Strategies: Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement business strategies that drive revenue growth and market expansion.
11. Competitor Analysis: Monitor competitors' activities and market dynamics to identify competitive advantages and areas for improvement.
12. Partnership and Alliances: Identify and establish strategic partnerships and alliances to enhance the organization's market presence and business offerings.
13. Project Evaluation: Evaluate the financial viability of potential projects and investment opportunities.
14. Risk Assessment: Assess and manage business risks related to financial decisions and investments.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business Administration, or a related field. A master's degree is desirable.
- Proven experience in financial management and business development roles, preferably within a similar industry.
- Strong financial acumen and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and make informed decisions.
- Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on achieving business objectives.
- Proficiency in financial modelling, forecasting, and budgeting.
- Demonstrated track record of successful business development, partnership negotiations, and market expansion.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey financial information to various stakeholders.
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
- Knowledge of financial regulations, accounting principles, and tax laws.
