Job Description
Medical secretary opportunity as part of the Skull Base Team in Neursurgery Department, working with 2 consultants.
This role will be managing and supporting 2 consultant practices within the sub speciality skull base team.
The successful candidate would ideally be already working in a medical secretary role and have experience of using NBT in house systems as well as MS packages.
As well as supporting clinical practices, you will be responsible for working with and covering the MDT Coordinator during times of absence such as annual leave or sick leave. This will include minute taking in a large MDT weekly meeting, working closely with the Advanced Nurse Practitioners.
Working with the waiting list coordinators, validators and performance and ops manager is a vital part of this role, ensuring patient pathways are accurately recorded and patients are treated in a timely way by keeping up to date and reviewing the BNSSG policy.

4. The working environment can sometimes be noisy and busy – need to respect the
privacy of colleagues and minimise interruptions or noise levels when possible
5. Adaptable approach, as the subject matter of your workload will vary across different
clinical specialties.
6. There is frequent requirement for prolonged concentration and occasional requirement
to concentrate on unpredictable and multiple demands.
7. Contact, both via telephone and face-to-face, with carers or patients who may be
emotionally upset and may present in challenging ways, and with health care
professionals. Tact and effective communication may be required to defuse emotionally
charged situations.
8. Requirement to be flexible to support the core working hours required by the
department to deliver the service
