Caffè Nero are looking for an energetic high calibre sales expert with a passion for consumers and brands to join the head office in Covent Garden as a Senior Business Development Manager. The successful candidate will drive the growth of the Caffè Nero “Coffee At Home” product range and our Nero Coffee Solutions propositions in partnership with our Strategic alliance with UCC Coffee.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced sales professional to grow the New Channels function within Caffè Nero, with the key focus on growing the sales performance of the brand outside of their cafés through winning new business in the Out of home and Grocery Channels.
Key responsibilities for this role include:
- Developing and executing a Sales Strategy with UCC cross channel teams to win new business in Grocery and Out Of Home channels.
- Leading and winning new business of scale specifically for Caffe Nero and leading the efforts across the UCC sales teams to support and enable this. This role is purely about securing new business before handing over to the account management teams.
- Partnering with New Channels Senior Marketing lead to create compelling insights to secure new business.
- Holding P&L responsibility, you will deliver against challenging yet exciting growth objectives and demonstrate high business acumen across the channels.
- Helping to define the ‘wholesale’ (AKA Proud to serve, Premium Automated Retail) proposition, including evolution of the branding, development of marketing toolkits, new customer development, and driving sales performance.
The successful candidate will be:
- A proven highly driven results focused sales leader with broad commercial acumen
- A great influencer and communicator at all levels
- A superb collaborator, comfortable working with multiple departments, colleagues, and be fully integrated with Caffe Nero and UCC teams. This role will see a split of time between Caffe Nero (London)/UCC (Milton Keynes) head office when not in the trade.
- Able to demonstrate skills/experience in the following:
- High drive and tenacity to deliver
- Proven track record operating as New Business /Business Development Director/National Account Manager securing new business of scale
- Strong preference with experience from a blue chip background and FMCG training
- Proven experience of creating and implementing strategies to win new business
- Experience of senior selling across different channels including convenience, multiples, foodservice and Grocery
- Multiskilled negotiator
- Strong numeric and data analytical skills
