Job Description
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and dedicated registered Occupational Therapist. We have a well established Occupational Therapy team providing assessment and treatment for patients with complex sensory and health needs in a variety of community settings. The Occupational Therapy Service is a citywide service and works as part of an multi-disciplinary.
Clinical support, professional development and guidance will be provided by the Professional Lead Occupational Therapist within the Occupational therapy team. As part of this post you will be actively involved in developing, and facilitating group work.
With the diversity of presentation of the patients within our service, you will have ample opportunity to develop your skills in all areas of Occupational therapy, you will also have the ability to work as part of an integrated multi-disciplinary team with strong links to Social Care providers.
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary health and social care Community Learning Disability Team (CALDS) to provide a specialist Occupational Therapy service to adults with a range of learning disabilities.
- Develop, use and apply specialist knowledge, skills and experience when undertaking Occupational Therapy assessments with people with learning disabilities.
- Use evidence-based practice and person-centre principles when assessing and treating people with learning disabilities.
- Manage a complex caseload of people with learning disabilities, both autonomously and under supervision
- Work as part of a city-wide Occupational Therapy service to benefit people who are learning disabled.
- Contribute to service developments.
- Participate in the development and provision of multi-professional training to the CALDS, independent sector and other agencies.
- Undertake a professional educator’s course.
- Participate in the facilitation of therapeutic group work.
