An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 4 Administrator/Clinic Secretary to join our MK Community Mental Health Hub. The hub is part of the adult mental health community redesign initiative to improve the quality of care received by people with mental health needs in their local community. The national direction of travel, outlined in the NHS Long Term Plan, is towards the provision of more integrated, personalised and place-based care and the hub is a needs based service providing a wide range of interventions as part of 3 pathways, Diagnosis & Condition Management, Psychosocial and Therapies.
The main responsibilities of this post will be to act as a point of contact for the service and handle telephone and email enquiries, and to prepare documents (letters, memos, reports) by copy or audio typing using Microsoft office software, ensuring all policies and procedures are adhered to.
We are looking for someone who is dynamic, organised, who can work autonomously as well as part of the multi-disciplinary team and who can work in an efficient manner. You will be responsible to the Service Manager.
The main responsibilities of this post will be to provide secretarial support with diary management, appointment booking, typing clinical letters, minutes and documents as required, answering incoming telephone calls for the team, general administrative duties including photocopying, filing, the collection, opening and distribution of post, ordering supplies and to assist in providing cover for other secretaries in the team.

The Clinic Secretary will be responsible for providing a full range of administrative duties to the team. This will range from word processing, distribution of post, arranging meetings, receiving and disseminating information and the provision of a receptionist service in order to enable the team to carry out a range of clinical activity as quickly and effectively as is required. The Clinic Secretary is responsible for supporting various staff including Consultant Psychiatrists, Team Managers, Community Psychiatric Nurses, Nurse Prescribers, Occupational Therapists, Peer Support Workers and Support Workers.
The post holder will work closely with other administrative staff within Milton Keynes Mental Health Service, sharing work where necessary and providing cover for leave purposes.
