Area Sales Manager
Aquadart Bathrooms Ltd are an established manufacturer and importer of branded products for domestic bathrooms. Our well respected product range is specified and installed in tens of thousands of UK homes each year. We sell through distributors and to key trade customers, but not to the general public. We are based in Keighley, West Yorkshire.
The Area Sales Manager role is a key position and the bedrock of the Aquadart’s sales drive. This role is totally field based and requires a high degree of self-management and motivation. The sales team is primarily responsible for achieving monthly revenue targets, and driving the sales growth.
Main Duties/Responsibilities
- Increase turnover and profitability within direct accounts within a defined geographical area
- Proactively sell Aquadart products to specifiers, installers, retail outlets, plumbing merchants, contractors and back-sell through current stockists via distribution.
- Agree targets and set objectives for each account with your territory and obtain agreement to the proposed area plan. Amend in the light of changes to regional, national, market strategy.
- Undertake and arrange training for all customers as necessary to ensure knowledge of the sales benefits and technical advantages of our products.
- Evaluate and identify potential contract leads within the Developer sector of the business and either manage or pass on information to Specification managers depending on value.
- Fully understand and effectively communicate the strategy of the business.
- Plan journeys and personal visits to customers at appropriate frequencies to optimize the potential of each account, having regard to the time and expense involved.
- Create and employ a journey plan and record your visits via CRM system.
- Ensure comprehensive records are kept and maintained via CRM system and laptop of all current and potential contracts/specifications in accordance with company guidelines.
- Regularly liaise with relevant key staff, both internally and externally, to maximize efficiency
- Refer customer suggestions on potential product modifications and/or new ideas via monthly report.
- Maintain awareness of competitor products and activities, which might affect Aquadart’s future policy and provide appropriate feedback.
- Evaluate opportunities for participation in trade events and exhibitions and arrange company involvement, including personal representation, where appropriate.
- Compile a monthly report.

Experience:
- An excellent sales background selling into the trade and retail environment.
- Good presentation skills.
- Strong commercial orientation, able to demonstrate a commercially based offer
- Ability to understand bathroom products and their application.
- Evidence of strong planning skills.
- Proven success at managing a complex portfolio of products and ranges.
- Customer relationship management (CRM) and online experience.
- Strong customer orientation; used to dealing with customers and building close relationships.
