Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) are hiring!

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Support to join our Enablement Group. This is a full- time opportunity on a permanent basis.

The role will be based in 10 South Colonnade, Canary Wharf London, E14 4PU. Please be aware that this role can only be worked in the UK and not overseas. We are currently implementing a flexible, hybrid way of working, with a minimum of 4 days per month working on site to enable the collaboration and contact with partners and stakeholders needed to deliver MHRA business. Attendance on site is driven by business needs so depending on the nature of the role, this can flex up to 8 days a month, with the remainder of time worked either remotely or in the office. Some roles will need to be on site more regularly. Remote working is potentially available for some specific roles. Please discuss this with the recruiting manager before accepting an appointment.

Who are we?

The MHRA is transforming, creating a progressive, responsive and sovereign regulator of medical products that is a fundamental requirement to achieve the innovation set out in the UK Life Sciences Vision.

Strategic Programme Delivery is part of the Enablement group in the Agency. We are responsible for overseeing the governance and performance of programmes and projects that are delivering strategic change for the Agency, ensuring compliance to standards and best practice for programme and project delivery. The team is responsible for managing service transformation execution, change, delivery performance, financial performance, benefits and risk performance for these programmes and projects. The team are responsible for ensuring projects realise the benefits of a new Future Operating Model and drive modernisation, automation, and risk proportionality throughout the Agency. Furthermore, it will develop and build the capability to deliver a culture of continuous improvement through further phases of growth. It is also responsible for alignment with the strategic change objectives of the agency and plays a critical role in bringing all key stakeholders into the journey so that they are represented and understand the new vision for the Agency.

The team is an enabler across the Agency and will work collaboratively with core areas of the Agency (Healthcare Quality & Access, Safety & Signalling, Science Research & Innovation) to deliver strategic change programmes and projects.


What’s the role?

The post holder will be responsible for the coordination and delivery of a business project, working closely alongside the Director of Delivery. Senior Project Support organises the planning and execution of projects and deliverables including scheduling tasks, risk and progress management and liaising with stakeholders.

This role acts as a driving force in a business project and has a direct impact on its efficiency and overall success.


Key responsibilities:

  • Works closely with the Director of Delivery effectively monitoring and managing plans and carrying out effective management of diaries. Works across the team to coordinate the review of functions and role of the team as it moves from transformation to delivery.
  • Ensures strategic projects are tracked and implemented within agreed timelines and project objectives are achieved. Ensures business readiness is achieved in alignment with the wider Agency.
  • Manages multiple stakeholder groups internally and externally appropriately in complex environments, supports human-centric change management and develops strong, effective working relationships across a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensures data management activity is carried out effectively whilst ensuring accurate and timely reporting is presented as required to the Director of Delivery, ExCO and other committees in the Governance of the programme.

Who are we looking for?

The successful candidate will have a relevant qualification such as Project management degree or PRINCE2; or relevant experience as well as excellent IT skills including excel and databases. You will have experience working in a fast-paced customer service environment with proven ability of providing a high level of customer service and problems solving through the use of logical thinking. You will also be adept at delivering at pace as well excellent communication skills.
