Job Description
The Isle of Wight NHS Orthoptic department is looking for an adventurous and motivated 0rthoptist to join our growing team. This new position is a full time, Band 5 post which would suit an orthoptist at the beginning of their career. The island has a unique and diverse patient group and support will be provided by experienced orthoptic colleagues.
There will be opportunities for the applicant to develop into a variety of extended roles. As a small team, we fully support individual development plans and provide the protected time and finances to grow and advance. To be an autonomous practitioner carrying out investigations, diagnosis and management of both paediatric and adult orthoptic patients.
To liaise with all members of the Eye Clinic team as well as Health Visitors, School Nurses and local optometrists.
To explain and demonstrate orthoptic investigations to health visitors, school nurses and junior medical staff.
To contribute to the general running of the orthoptic department.
