London Northwest University Hospital Trust is seeking a dynamic & motivated band 5 children’s nurse, for an exciting opportunity to join our newly developed paediatric hospital at home (PATCH) service. We are developing same day emergency care pathways to prevent and reduce hospital admissions. We will offer you a wide range of experiences, assessing and treating children and young people with acute illness in their own homes whilst being support by senior nurses in the team & paediatric consultants.
The PATCH team will cover a 7 day service between 08:00-22:00 however if required to work on the Paediatric Assessment Unit for a fixed length of time, then this is a 24 hour service requiring flexible working.
It is essential that you will have at least 1 year of acute / community experience working as a registered children’s nurse, with excellent clinical and communication skills. The Band 5 role requires a dynamic, motivated children’s nurse who is looking to develop their clinical assessment/nursing skills whilst working alongside senior nurses/paediatric consultants. You will need to be flexible and forward thinking, able to work independently and as part of a friendly and supportive team delivering nursing care to a diverse community. There will be a strong focus to deliver an ‘out of hospital’ agenda across community based pathways to reduce hospital attendances and length of stay.
