The CLCH Outer Northwest Bedded Rehabilitation Units cover a sites in Brent and accept patients from the boroughs of Brent and other neighboring boroughs. We champion the role of community health professionals to make sure our patients get great care closer to home.
Our current Band 7 Team Lead Occupational Therapy vacancy is predominately based at Furness Ward, Willesden Centre for Health and Care, NW10 3RY. Furness ward is a 19 bedded unit accepting adult clients with a variety of conditions/diagnoses.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of Occupational Therapists across the Furness rehab ward. They will also be responsible for the everyday running of the units alongside the Band 7 Team Lead Physiotherapist and will be well supported by the Clinical Lead. This post will offer applicants an exciting and challenging opportunity to work with a wide variety of patients, engaging in comprehensive assessment, patient centered treatment and rehabilitation.
So what do you need to join our team?
- Significant post graduate experience of multidisciplinary team work in an NHS environment
- Strong knowledge and expertise in working in adult/ older people’s rehabilitation, neuro rehabilitation and musculoskeletal/orthopedic services
- Experience of working in close collaboration with community services, social care colleagues and other voluntary sector organizations in order to deliver safe transition of care from the rehabilitation setting to discharge destination/home
- Experience in directly managing other members of therapy staff
- Experience in service development and in organizing and implementing training/teaching programmes for healthcare professionals and clients

- To be an active member of Aster Rehabilitation Unit, providing a comprehensive, specialist rehabilitation occupational therapy service aimed at maximising functional ability and independence.
- To use advanced clinical skills to lead in the assessment and evaluation of programmes of care for patients who meet the eligibility criteria for the rehabilitation unit
- To provide a high standard of therapy and rehabilitative care to patients using an evidence-based approach
- Having a clinical caseload of people with complex multiple pathologies who exhibit a range of physical, psychological, neurological, emotional, behavioural, social problems or age-related conditions.
- To provide line management, clinical supervision, and training to junior and assistant staff as appropriate and to students on clinical fieldwork placements.
