About the Job
We are currently recruiting for a talented Assistant Merchandiser to join our growing Next Beauty team to continually grow and develop our recently launched and highly successful Beauty category. The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience within a multichannel Beauty business. Working in partnership with Buying, our Merchandising team uses analysis, expertise and instinct to forecast sales and stock levels to trade the department. Together with Buying, we build a commercial range from our portfolio of Beauty brands to ensure our customers are truly satisfied.
You will be…
- Report on stock, sales, markdown and profit for your department.
- React to changes in trends to maximise sales.
- Oversee intake.
- Propose changes to processes where needed.
- Ensure all relevant teams in the wider business are kept updated.
- Ensure new product meets required launch dates.
- Contribute to department strategy demonstrating an ability to recognise innovative ideas and solutions, which have a commercial gain.
- Create seasonal planning packs for your department
- Provide historical sales analysis for your department.
- Update sales, stock, markdown & OTB forecasts to review with management.
- Share accurate intake forecasts with relevant teams.
- Develop your Merchandise Assistant through their development programme, by identifying and setting measurable objectives and developing a flexible management style as appropriate to their needs.
- Oversee the team of Merchandise Assistants to ensure deadlines are met and time is managed effectively.
- Build strong relationships with your brand partners and the wider business.

- You have strong analytical skills and can interpret key sales and trend data.

- A problem solving attitude & confident in suggesting changes to ways of working.
- Outstanding ability to build relationships with key stakeholders.
- An inspirational manager with the ability to develop your Merchandise Assistant.
- Experience within the beauty industry would be beneficial.
- Experience operating at an Assistant Merchandiser level.
