Job Title: Retail Salesperson (Garden machinery, Groundcare Industry)

MowersUK (a division of Acacia Groundcare Equipment Rental Ltd) is a leading and well known retailer of garden, forestry and arboriculture machinery, based in Tadley, Nr Basingstoke for over 30+ years. We sell garden machinery as well as offering a selection of more specialist groundcare machinery for hire. We are an established and growing business and have built our reputation on excellent customer service, a friendly welcome and offering good value for money.
We have an exciting opportunity to recruit a commercially minded, enthusiastic and flexible Retail Salesperson to join our friendly team reporting to the Store Manager. This is a new and varied role with no two days the same and has lots of potential for development and progression for the right person.
Overseas candidates will NOT be considered for this role so please refrain from applying unless eligible to work in the UK.
The role:
Assisting in the store:
- Engaging with our customers daily to sell quality garden machinery, negotiating prices, assist them with parts and take service bookings, etc
- Running the hire counter and dealing with enquiries
- Providing a first-class level of customer service at all times
- Maintaining shop standards with machines cleaned and assembled ready for display
- Creative input to keep the shop floor interesting for customers.
Assisting behind the scenes:
- Stock control - managing the goods in and out
- Dealing with the despatch process for online orders
- Assisting with updating our shop management system with new products
- Happy to assist with some routine marketing tasks, such as SMS reminders.
Hours
Tuesday-Friday 8am-5pm, Saturday 9am-5pm (41.5 hours/week).
About You
- Previous retail/selling experience with a willingness to learn
- Some knowledge of the garden machinery industry and a willingness to develop your knowledge (you may have previous experience of landscaping or arb work)
- Enjoy working with people and can build relationships with customers
- A positive attitude, looking to assist with new ideas
- Computer literate and able to learn new systems
- Well spoken, good grammar and spelling
- Training will be provided.
