Project Administrative Support Officer Tavistock (Fixed Term until 31 March 2025)

22.5 hours

Salary £13,850 - £15,451 per annum

County Hall, Dorchester

What’s in it for you:

Do you want to be part of an exciting research project that has just got underway?

Tavistock Relationships have been funded by the Youth Endowment Fund to work in partnership with three local authorities (one of which is Dorset Council’s Children’s Services) to deliver a two-year randomised control trial with children and their families experiencing relationship stress.

We need the help of a part time Project Administrative Support Officer to contribute to this work by directly supporting the Project Referral Co-Ordinator and keep in regular contact with parents, children's services practitioners, our schools and other early help partners as well as colleagues within the research teams at Tavistock Relationships and Sheffield Hallam University, who are the project evaluators.

What you can expect to be doing:

You will help in promoting the opportunity for parents in relationship stress to access support. This will include working closely with schools and front-line social care and early help practitioners as well as utilising the Dorset Council website effectively to reach parents who may not be in touch with existing services.

You will ensure all referrals are processed swiftly and efficiently within specified timescales, assisting with data collection and producing monitoring reports, as directed for the research teams within Tavistock Relationships and Sheffield Hallam University as well as responding to general enquiries.

This project is an exciting collaboration and you will be part of a small team, central to its success in Dorset.

About you:

We are looking for an organised, experienced administrator who has a genuine interest in supporting families experiencing relationship stress. A minimum of 5 GCSE’s at C grade or above (or equivalent) including English and Maths, excellent communication skills and previous administrative experience are essential. You will have some key skills including:

  • using a range of IT systems, including Office 365, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and databases.
  • producing documents to a high quality standard.
  • exceptional customer care.
  • supporting projects, maintaining accurate records and preparing monitoring reports
  • having a flexible approach to work and contributing as part of a team.

The post is based in County Hall Dorchester, but some working from home under a hybrid working arrangement is possible.

Additional Information

The post holder will be subject to a DBS ( basic) check

There may be significant travel around the county to support and promote the work so a driving licence is needed.

Interview dates: Week commencing 28 August 2023
