Sales Manager

Salary: £40-50k depending on experience, profit performance bonus + package
Morgan King are actively recruiting a Sales Manager / BDM to join their Doncaster based client on a permanent basis. The role exists to support to Director of Certification in securing sales and achieving business growth plans. It is expected that the job holder will take control of the agreed business growth plans and work with the Director of Certification, Chairman and BCSA team to achieve such plans.
In developing the business, the job holder will expand the client base and service offering within the scope of the certification body accreditations. While the principal role is driving business growth, in an SME there will be requirements to support other activities to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
Main duties:
- Use data analysis and contacts to seek and establish new business opportunities in the form of new clients and/or new services consistent with the agreed business growth plans.
- Embed processes for sales development including use of CRM, contact processes and supporting documentation.
- Undertake activities to determine companies competitive position, through researching offerings by our competitors.
- Interaction with consultants/contacts providing opportunities for growth.
- Provide input to external communication and awareness through use of social media, publications and presentations. The aim is to promote the company and to work closely with BCSA Marketing specialist.
- Provide quotations for new work and manage relationships and follow up with clients.
- Provide documentation necessary for management and Certification Board meetings, including demonstrating action plans and progress against sales targets for new business.
- Attending audits may be required to support activities and/or to understand client relationships.
- Perform to the values and standards set by the company including maintenance of confidentiality and impartiality with respect to the auditing process.
Skillset/Competences
- Proven track record in business development and achieving sales targets including growing client base and portfolio of services.
- Proven track record of working in small teams and in particular experience with effective operation of an SME.
- Use of KPIs and dashboards to demonstrate progress.
- Selection of business opportunities based on ability to deliver and financial benefit to the business.
- Preparation and presentation of finance and business reports.
- IT database management and data analysis, including use of CRM tools.
- Presenting information to others – including business cases, training, promotion.
- Ability to understand the main aspects of ISO/IEC 17021 and ISO/IEC 17065 (these underpin the operating principles for Certification Bodies).
- Able to explain to clients the main principles and benefits of certification to BS/EN/ISO 9001, BE/EN/ISO 14001, BS/EN/ISO 45001, BS/EN/ISO 3834, National Highways Sector Schemes, Factory Production Control and UKCA marking for construction products and processes and, others as the business develops.
