JOB TITLE: Bristol Sport Foundation Business Finance Partner
WORKING HOURS: 22.5hrs per week (3 days)

JOB PURPOSE
We are looking for a Finance Business Partner to join our team based at Ashton Gate Stadium.
Reporting into the Chief Executive Officer, the successful candidate will fulfil monthly accounting responsibilities and partner with key stakeholders to provide insights that support performance and development opportunities.
You will have a background in financial reporting and control, with strong communication and organisation skills and the ability to organise and interpret information effectively. You will be analytically minded with excellent attention to detail and able to influence change.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (KPIs)
Finance Operations
- Day-to-day management of all finance processes including accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll
- Execute the Foundation’s financial month end including balance sheet and bank account reconciliations, accruals, prepayments and journal processing
- Prepare and manage cashflow forecasts to ensure sufficient liquidity at all times and that reserves are in line with policy requirements
- Identify and implement process efficiencies on an on-going basis
Financial Reporting
- Produce accurate and timely management accounts for presentation at quarterly Board of Trustees meetings and termly management meetings, including variance analysis/commentary and appropriate recording of restricted funds
- Lead on the annual audit and finance submissions to regulatory bodies including the Charity Commission
- Take overall responsibility for the Foundation’s finance system, keeping up to date with changes in IT and systems infrastructure to implement change as relevant
Business Partnering
- Work with key stakeholders to set budgets and ensure that performance is in line with expectations in a “no surprises” culture
- Partner with key internal and external stakeholders to improve reporting, business information and data analysis to support effective decision making
- Provide finance support with grant funding applications, ensuring that reporting and financial control is in line with the requirements of sponsors and donors
- Maintain and develop excellent relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders
ESSENTIAL SKILLS
- Strong IT skills including knowledge of finance accounting systems and proficient using Excel (advanced level – pivot tables, lookup formulas etc). Experience of Power BI and Quickbookswould also be useful
- Minimum AAT Level 4 Diploma with at least 2 years' experience working in a finance team
- Ability to work independently and gain trust from key stakeholders
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to organise and interpret data effectively
- Technically sound knowledge of accounting principles and practice (accruals, prepayments, journal processing). Experience in the charity sector would be beneficial
- Possess a growth mindset to challenge and develop yourself and others
- Experience of payroll processing would be advantageous
- Interest in sport and/or physical activity is also preferred
