Are you looking for an opportunity to lead a team and influence the future provision of the children's dietetic services within children's home enteral feeding team based at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent 1WTE Team Leader and clinical lead within the speciality of home enteral feeding . The successful candidate will have an operational leadership role in the provision and development of a commissioned dietetic services , leading a team of around 6 specialist children's dietitians based within the wider team of around 23 dietitians , assistants ,nurses coordinators and administrative support . We are looking for an experienced, proactive dietitian with excellent communication, team-working and leadership skills.

Main duties of the job

Your clinical caseload will be providing dietary advice and nutritional support for infants , children and young adults across Nottinghamshire who require enteral feeding . You will also be the clinical and team lead for the dietitians working within the team .

You will provide operational and clinical leadership to other dietitians assistants ,technicians, coordinators and administrative staff within the home enteral feeding service . As a team leader you will provide operational leadership to the team and within speciality areas within dietetics to ensure effective and efficient service delivery, promote staff development and wellbeing, as well as providing expert knowledge and support for dietetic colleagues and for the management team.

This job will require working with inpatients therefore you will be required to wear the appropriate level of PPE.

The NUH dietetic department comprises of around 140 staff including assistants and technicians providing dietetic and nutrition support across all areas of the Trust and beyond.

As a large acute teaching hospital over two main sites, NUH has a range of fantastic opportunities for staff to develop their careers within the NHS. The Dietetic service is part of the Therapies and Rehabilitation Services pathway, which is one of the pathways that together make up the Clinical Support Division at NUH. We are a diverse pathway of AHPs and support staff, employing over 600 staff who work together to deliver high quality care.

We have close links with the University of Nottingham, and take student dietitians for their placements.

Essential criteria

  • HCPC registered
  • Requires specialist knowledge for area of responsibility
  • Recognised post-graduate training relevant to specialty (eg either obtained MSc or completed modules

  • Significant post graduate experience, including wide exposure to different specialties and/or experiences at Band 6 in relevant specialty
