An exciting opportunity has arisen for a 0.8 FTE Band 8c Consultant Clinical Psychologist position covering maternity leave for a period of 12 months in Clinical Haematology. The post comprises of 0.6 FTE into adult haematological malignancies and 0.2 WTE into lifespan thrombotic thrombocytopenia purpura (TTP) service.
It is essential that the post-holder has a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and to be HCPC registered by the time of commencing in post. The post holder will be employed by Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust and will usually be based at the City Hospital.
Main duties of the job
The haematological malignancies aspect will entail providing psychological therapy to both inpatient and outpatients for all blood cancers and stem cell transplants. The post will involve working as part of the multi-disciplinary team, providing input to group based interventions and delivering group supervision to non-psychology colleagues. There is also a requirement to provide supervision to psychology colleagues within the haematology department. The TTP service provides new patient screening, including neuropsychological, as well as providing psychological therapy for those living with the condition and support to the MDT.

The successful applicant will join the Department of Clinical Psychology and Neuropsychology at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. It is a supportive and well-respected department which incorporates specialisms in Medical Psychology and Neuropsychology. There are excellent links with the University of Nottingham and the Trent Clinical Psychology Doctorate Course.
Appropriate clinical supervision will be provided by clinical psychologists working in the adult medical psychology service.

Salary: The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.
