Job Description

Location: Based in Manvers, Barnsley (but with travel to other boroughs for pick-ups, you may also be required to visit our sites in South Yorkshire for training and development as needed)
Hours: Full time (9am-5pm mon - fri)
Salary: £24k
Contract Term: Permanent
Start Date: ASAP

Are you currently working in education and looking for a new challenge? Are you passionate about making a difference to the lives of young people? Are you missing the chance to work with smaller group sizes so that your work can have a greater impact? Would you like to take part in offsite enrichment activities? Do you want a rewarding career with opportunities for progression where you will experience genuine job satisfaction? This is a fantastic opportunity to join an award winning nationally recognized organization that strives to make education accessible for learners who have struggled to cope in mainstream.

The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and nurturing Youth Worker to work in our Barnsley project to support young people to thrive both inside and outside of the classroom. You will be required to provide classroom support on both one to one and group sessions to a varied cohort of young people on site. You may also be required to work offsite to provide one to one support to learners that may not be at a stage where they feel able to attend onsite provision. When you are not providing support to learners onsite or out in the community you will support learners on enrichment activities, contribute to SEN/D paperwork and help with barrier busting to enable our learners to get one step closer to education, training and work.

You will be responsible for delivering high quality youth work and support to our learners and must have a real ability to engage young people who struggle to see the value in education. Like all staff at Really NEET you will be responsible for transporting learners from home to their place of study and back home again so it is essential that you have your own car that is in sound working order and be willing to add the necessary business insurance.

What it's like to work for us

The Really NEET Project is a Post 16 SEN/D provision that works with 16-24 year old’s who have struggled to cope in mainstream education. Our approach is very much person centred and based around meeting the needs of the learners. Students are taught either one-to-one or in small groups, so being able to build great relationships is at the heart of what we do.

We have been operating for over 10 years and are nationally renowned for the work that we do in not only re-engaging young people back into education but for the holistic support that we offer to help our learners to remove barriers to learning, life and work.

We currently have projects in Rotherham, Barnsley, London and The Midlands.

If you want to work somewhere that values both its staff and its students, then Really NEET would welcome your application.

For more information on our organization, please visit our website.

Our website is currently under construction and is set to relaunch in Dec. If any further info is needed, please ask.

Please note that we are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our pupils and expect all those who work with us to share this commitment. Successful applicants will need to undertake a DBS Enhanced Clearance check (Disclosure and Barring Service).

So, if you want to join us as a Pastoral/Youth Engagement Worker, please apply via the button shown. This vacancy is being advertised by Webrecruit. The services advertised by Webrecruit are those of an Employment Agency.
