About the role

This is an entry-level role as a Legacy Administrator undertaking critical administrative duties that underpin the work of the Legacy Management team, with responsibility for the pecuniary bequests the charity receives. As a key member of the Legacy Management Team the successful candidate will work with the team to maximise the value of our legacies, which provide an essential income stream for the charity.
About the Team
The Legacy Management team is currently a small team of five with a Legacy Administrator, two Legacy Officers and Legacy Case Manager all reporting into the Head of Legacy Management. The team sits in the Fundraising Directorate and manages the largest net income stream for GOSH Charity, providing more than £23m every year.
We have just embarked upon an ambitious ten-year strategy to substantially grow legacy income and the Legacy Management team works closely with our colleagues in the Legacy Marketing team to support the strategy.
About You
You will have relevant experience of working in an administrative environment which demands accuracy and attention to detail. You will also be a motivated self-starter capable of managing administrative duties alongside a caseload of active estates, who is sensitive to the emotional impact that death can have on the families of legacy supporters.
The ideal candidate will also have:
The ability to prioritise and organise their own workload- Strong communication skills across a broad range of external stakeholders
- The ability to communicate sympathetically with recently bereaved members of the public
- A basic understanding of probate law and estate administration procedures
- Strong IT competency including a working knowledge of the FirstClass database
- Completed the Certificate in Charity Legacy Administration (CiCLA)
