FOH Assistant
Contract: Permanent
7 hours contract on either Saturday or Sunday / 14 hour contract Saturday and Sunday
Salary: £10.90 per hour
Holidays: 25 days per year plus 8 public holidays (pro rata)
Based at: Porter’s Eirias Park, Colwyn Bay

Job Purpose:
To perform a variety of duties associated with a busy coffee shop/café based in a local leisure center. The team here are multi-skilled and, due to the nature and set up of this business, the role will encompass both front of house and back of house duties. You will be using a barista coffee machine, making sandwiches, provide efficient till service taking orders and payments. You will clear and clear tables in the restaurant area as well as operating the dishwasher. You will have great customer service standards and a knowledge of basic food hygiene for this role.
Responsibilities:
- To provide a welcoming front of house experience and high level of customer service to visiting the coffee shop
- To serve a drinks menu, using barista coffee machine preparing a range of quality coffee
- To communicate effectively with the team ensuring all orders are completed efficiently
- To clear and clean café tables when required and using dishwasher
- To prepare sandwiches for customers from our “salad bar”
- Be prepared to work in both FOH and BOH positions to provide support to staff on site
- To ensure all open and closing procedures are followed in accordance with existing policies
- To work effectively within the team providing motivation, support, and training (when applicable) to volunteers and work program participants
- To operate EPOS till system and card payment machine handling all payments including cash
- To project a professional image to all internal and external customers ensuring correct grooming and maintaining the dress code
- To maintain a clean and safe environment for all staff, volunteers, and customers
- To remove all refuse from the coffee shop and recycle in line with Company policy
- To ensure all policies and procedures are adhered to in line with legislation.
- To liaise directly with Catering Manager to ensure smooth running of the businesses
- To undergo training courses and attend meetings when necessary.
- To have commitment to and demonstrate an undertaking of equality of opportunity and its relevance to different sectors within the community.
- Must demonstrate empathy towards Adferiad Recovery’s beneficiaries.
- To carry out all other tasks commensurate with the role.

Person Specification:
- Level 2 Food Hygiene or equivalent
- Essentials of Food Hygiene including Safer Food Better
- Previous experience of working in a similar environment
- Food and drink preparation
- Good organisational skills, ability to manage, organise and deal with multiple tasks
- Customer Service
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively within a small team
