Swansea is an innovative waterfront city at the heart of the wider Swansea Bay City Region. From stunning coastal scenery to tranquil parks, from its thriving cultural scene to the best of modern city living, the city offers the best of all worlds.
This is an opportune time to join our organisation as we are remodelling our family support, edge of care and early help services to enable us to better meet the needs of families in Swansea. Ensuring families receive the right support at the right time, from the right place, and as early as possible, will ensure the best possible outcomes for children and families. This will enable statutory children's services to focus on those families with the most complex needs.
In Swansea we understand the need to nurture and support staff. From the excellent induction process when you join us and throughout your time with us we will support your work and career. The recently implemented workforce wellbeing strategy supports our focus on staff care and opportunities for seamless progression through the social work and senior practitioner pay scales are in place. You will benefit from experienced and supportive managers and a risk sensible culture.
We have a very clear vision in Swansea which is well understood by the current workforce, that wherever safe children should remain in the care of their birth families. Signs of Safety is our practice framework and we have used the reclaiming Social Work model to form small pods led by a Practice Lead. This supports good supervision and collaboration between staff. Building positive respectful relationships with families, listening to children and ensuring they are involved in decisions that affect their lives is at the heart of what we do.
This advert is for a social worker within the 16+ Team @ Infonation (The BAYS+ Service). BAYS+ support young people under Child in Need, Child Protection, Looked After, and Care Leaver arrangements. Working in partnership with Barnardo's, the 16+ Team aims to provide a seamless and tailored response to the needs of all young people (aged between 16 and 25). We hope to employ a dynamic and solution focused person who has a passion for this service area and the enthusiasm needed to meet the challenges of this age group. Ideally, candidates would have good knowledge of statutory roles within Child Protection and the responsibilities of the Local Authority towards Looked After Children and Care Leavers.
