BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION APPRENTICE – LEGACY OPERATIONS
Salary: 21,000 - £23,500 per annum
Reports to: Senior Legacy Operations Manager
Department: Marketing, Fundraising & Engagement
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Full time 35 hours per week (with 20% protected learning time to prepare for and meet apprenticeship standard requirements)
Location: Stratford, London, office-based with flexibility (2-3 days per week in the office)

We have an exciting opportunity to join Cancer Research UK’s Legacy Product Operations Team whilst also gaining a professional qualification via an apprenticeship. At present, Gifts in Wills fund over 1/3 of our life saving research however we want to grow this further and maximise the opportunity of Legacy Giving over the next 20 years. There is no better time to join us and make a huge impact on our ability to beat cancer sooner.
You will deliver outstanding operational support across the Legacy Product to ensure supporters and donors have the best experience with Cancer Research UK. Alongside your day-to-day responsibilities you will be enrolled on the Corndel Futures Business Associate Diploma; this will develop the skills needed to deliver impact in your job role. This qualification is accredited by the Chartered Management Institute and all learners will be awarded a Level 3 Business Administration Associate Diploma upon completion of the course.
What will I be doing?
  • Proactively using the apprenticeship programme to develop a broad business administration skill set and a working knowledge of legacy giving products and processes; management of digital data; communication and collaboration techniques; legal frameworks and organisational structures.
  • Proactively use the charity’s learning and development programme to develop desired core operational and administration skills.
  • Work collaboratively across the Legacy Product team to support the delivery of the wider team.
  • Undertake periods of protected learning (20% of time) to prepare for and meet apprenticeship standard requirements and end point assessment.
  • Demonstrate the use and application of new knowledge, skills and behaviours always.

Stage 1: Online application
Complete an online application form – you’ll be asked to answer two application questions and fill out your work history.

Stage 2: Audio Submission
If you are successful in the previous stage, you will be asked to complete an audio submission, answering competency-based questions. The questions will be emailed to you, and you will have a few days to submit a response via an audio recording (no video required).
Stage 3: Final Interviews
If you are successful in the previous stage, you will then be invited to a face-to-face interview at our head office in Stratford, London or online via Teams, with representatives from the team you are applying to.
