Position: COMPEX Instrument Technician

Here at Engenda Group we are currently looking for 3 x Instrument Technicians to join our team on-site in Bradford.

As an Instrument Technician at our chemical site in Bradford, you will play a crucial role in maintaining, calibrating, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of process control instruments and equipment. Tasks will include Loop checking & ATEX inspections for this shutdown. Your technical expertise will be essential in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the plant, adhering to strict safety protocols, and complying with relevant regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine inspections, calibrations, and maintenance of process instrumentation and control systems.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose instrument issues, identifying the root cause of problems and implementing effective solutions promptly to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with the operations and engineering teams to optimize process control strategies and improve overall system performance.
- Support installation and commissioning activities for new instrumentation and control equipment.
- Comply with safety standards and company policies to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, calibration data, and any modifications made to the instrumentation systems.
- Participate in periodic safety audits and contribute to the continuous improvement of safety practices.
- Stay up-to-date with advancements in instrumentation technology and share knowledge with the team.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:
- Minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent qualification.
- Relevant technical certifications or vocational training in instrumentation, electronics, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience as an Instrument Technician in an industrial or chemical manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of process instrumentation and control systems, as well as the ability to read technical diagrams, schematics, and P&IDs.
- A commitment to safety and adherence to safety regulations and protocols.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude towards troubleshooting.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
