Franco's Italian Restaurant, an esteemed dining establishment in the heart of St. James, is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Junior Wine Waiter to join our team. As a Junior Wine Waiter, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing our guests' dining experience by providing knowledgeable wine service, assisting in wine selection, and delivering exceptional customer service. Responsibilities:
- Wine Service: Assist guests with wine selections based on their preferences, meal choices, and desired taste profile. Recommend suitable wines that complement their chosen dishes to create a delightful dining experience.
- Wine Knowledge: Continuously develop your knowledge of wine varietals, regions, and production methods. Stay updated with the restaurant's wine list and be able to share information with guests confidently.
- Guest Interaction: Provide attentive and courteous service to guests, ensuring that their wine-related inquiries and requests are promptly addressed with professionalism and a friendly demeanour.
- Table Maintenance: Set and maintain tables with appropriate glassware and utensils, ensuring that all elements for a wine service are in place.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the waitstaff, kitchen team, and management to ensure seamless coordination during wine and food service.
- Learning Opportunities: Participate in training sessions and workshops organised by the company to expand your wine knowledge and develop your service skills.
- Upselling: Assist in suggesting and promoting premium wines and new releases to guests, contributing to increased revenue generation.
- Hygiene and Safety: Adhere to the restaurant's hygiene and safety standards, including proper handling and storage of wines.
- Assistance in Wine Events: Support management during wine-related events and tastings, ensuring guests have an enjoyable experience.
- Guest Satisfaction: Strive to exceed guest expectations by providing exceptional service and creating a welcoming atmosphere that encourages repeat visits.
Requirements:
- Passion for wine and eagerness to learn about different wine varietals, regions, and vintages.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with guests in a friendly and professional manner.
- A proactive and attentive approach to guest service.
- Impeccable grooming and presentation standards.
- Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality environment is a plus but not mandatory.
- Must be at least 18 years old to serve alcoholic beverages.

Who are we?
Franco’s first opened in 1946, is considered one of the first Italian restaurants in London which focuses on traditional and contemporary Italian Cuisine. Located on Jermyn Street between Green Park and Piccadilly, Franco’s is a family-owned restaurant that has a sister venue, Wiltons also on Jermyn Street. Both are managed by Director Jason Phillips who has worked at the Savoy, the Avenue and C London.
The restaurant compromises of a bar area, main dining room and a basement area which can be used as two Private Dining rooms or additional seating for the restaurant.
