Kelvedon St Mary's is a large 2-form entry primary school, with nursery. We have an excellent opportunity for somebody keen to delvelop in a role within a school office environment. Supported by the Trust's Administration Manager, we are in a position to be able to offer this position as an apprenticeship, leading to a business asdministration qualification.

After completion of apprenticeship
This is a fixed term apprenticeship position, however upon successful completion of the apprenticeship the successful candidate will be considered for permanent opportunities across the trust and its schools. Our permanent business administration roles commence at £22,777 (full time equivalent) and benefit from gernerous and secure local government terms and conditions of employment.

Key duties and responsibilities
Welfare
● To administer first aid to pupils as required, in keeping with the school’s policy, and order first aid supplies as necessary
● To liaise with parents regarding pupils’ sickness/injury
● To assist with visits of nurse, dentist etc.
● To assist with the general welfare of pupils
Reception
● Create a professional and welcoming reception to the wider school staff, parents and visitors.
● Ensure all visitor checks and health and safety processes are in place to monitor entry in and out of the school
● To be the first point of contact for telephone and face to face enquiries to the school office and take messages where appropriate
● To ensure school & trust security arrangements are always complied with, including the issue of visitor’s badges and signing of the visitor’s book
● To accept and sign for deliveries to the school office as appropriate
● To provide hospitality for visitors to the school
Clerical
● To undertake filing, photocopying and reprographic work as required, including the basic maintenance of the photocopier
● Sending of outgoing post and sorting incoming post, including the purchase of stamps
● To provide general clerical support as required
● To assist with the and maintenance of the school’s stationery stock and order supplies as necessary
● To assist with the administration of school visits in liaison with the teaching staff
● To undertake routine data input and typing
● To assist with lost property
● Assist with managing the school’s email inbox, ensuring the school meets its expected response times and emails are forwarded to the relevant staff member as necessary
● To provide general clerical support as required
General
● To participate in the performance and development review process, taking personal responsibility for identification of learning, development and training opportunities in discussion with line manager
● To comply with individual responsibilities in accordance with the role, for health and safety in the workplace
● Ensure that all duties and services provided are in accordance with the School’s Equal Opportunities Policy

Requirements:
- Enthusiasm for finance and a desire to pursue a career in the field.
- Willingness to work towards an AAT Level 3 qualification.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in using financial accounting software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Full driving licence and access to your own vehicle (highly desirable).
