Situated within three acres of landscaped grounds, Priory Hospital Chelmsford is an independent hospital that specialises in the treatment and management of adults and adolescents with a range of mental health problems. There is a highly experienced team of mental health professionals and support staff, which include consultant psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses and therapists.
The hospital offers calming and recovery focused residential treatment for up to 57 service users, as well as day care and outpatient services, including separate facilities for young people.

Job Description:
Responsibilities
- Establish close relationships with staff, managers, Regional HR colleagues.
- Be the first point of contact for Employee Relations (ER) queries for managers
- Assist managers, to arrange and coordinate HR hearings, investigation meetings, appeals as appropriate and liaise with the Regional HR Advisor where necessary. Be responsible for ensuring that minutes from hearings and meetings are recorded accurately and reproduced timeously.
- Ensure management of all local HR processes in a timely manner and within policy guidelines ensuring that documentation is recorded and stored in line with GDPR and company policy.
- Liaise with managers on absence management, ensuring recording and reporting processes to minimise impact on service delivery.
- Assist managers with cases of staff capability matters.
- Support and guide managers with change initiatives and projects in line with guidance from the Regional HR Advisor.
- Conduct HR audits to ensure records and files are kept up to date and are accurate.
- Identify key themes and trends to inform decision-making, learning & development and best practice.
- Work alongside the regional and divisional HR team collaborating with the HR team for best and consistent practice.
- Ensure that HR policies & procedures are embedded into the sites.
- Provide support to managers through the recruitment process. Including drafting of adverts and Job Descriptions.
- Liaise directly with the Onboarding Team to ensure prospective candidates progress timeously through pre-employment checks.
- Maintain and update all HR related applications and databases.
- To provide cover for Site Learning Administrator during periods of leave.
- Any other duties as directed by the Regional HR Advisor, HR Business Partner, Hospital Director or line manager.
Knowledge / Education / Skills
- Level 3 CIPD qualification desired
- Understanding of UK employment law and HR best practice

Experience
- Experience of working in Human Resources in a similar role.
Communication
Role will be required to use verbal and written forms of communication and the individual must do so in a professional and courteous manner at all times. Will also have requirement to present to SMT on occasion as well as briefings to colleagues.
