Position Overview: We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Production Specialist to join our dynamic manufacturing team. As a Production planning specialist, you will play a crucial role in optimising production schedules, coordinating resources, and ensuring efficient production operations. Your primary responsibility will be to develop and maintain production plans that align with customer demands, inventory targets, and overall business objectives. You will collaborate closely with various departments, such as production, procurement, and logistics, to ensure smooth and cost-effective manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities:- SCHEDULING & INVENTORY - Oversee the production scheduling plan to ensure the correct inventory levels of Manufactured Finished Goods and Raw Materials are available to support the on time delivery of customer orders and strategic growth plans, whilst optimising yields and reducing changeovers. Using an analytic approach to monitor and react to changes in product demand and strategic inventory levels.
- Manage MRP reporting for Manufactured and Raw Material SKU's ensuring stock keeping unit information and item card are updated (ROP's/ROQ's)
- Campaign Plan Analysis, highligting requirements for additional labour to meet customer demand.
- Schedule production of MTS SKU's replenishment, maximising production efficinecies.
- Schedule production of MTO SKU's achieving the customers requested delivery requirement.
- Create production job packs, inventory picks and production putaways.
- Monitor production updates to acurately update the planning tool, it's data base and ERP system.
- Maintain updated SKU List (Kept / Not Kept SKU's)
- Analyse historical data and monitor inventory levels of MTS SKU's based on historical sales and commercial forecasts, proposing changes to current stock holding levels with commercial team.
- Ensure agreed stock holding levels are achieved and maintained.
- Monitor plan adherence metrics, including accuracy of job completion times.
- Support Finance and Production team to meet monthly capacity recovery targets.
- Report stock level attainment (did we achieve what we planned).
- Report stock level effectiveness (was it the right quantity to support actual sales).
- Aged inventory reporting and actions.
- Ensuring SOP's are up-to-date, loaded into BMS.
- Measuring and monitoring daily KPI's and tracking on up-to-date visual management boards.
- Presenting data and improvement opportunities for the departments.
- Support with Stock Takes.
This role is ideal for someone who is:- able to build relationships across teams where they often having to balance their different demands for the good of the bigger picture
- Able to work independently but comfortable in speaking up when they see issues which may impact production
- Has a manufacturing background and great IT skills
- Is happy to do some monotonous tasks, such as label printing
- Would like to progress in the world of manufacturing and supply chain.
