ABOUT THE ROLE
Our Chargehands are responsible for the day to day control of planned and non-planned maintenance activities carried out across our manufacturing site. Using hands on front line leadership skills, our Chargehands organise and prioritise the work activity ensuring with safety first mind-set.
- Working with the Plant Management Team, you will actively optimise all tools and resources available to ensure smooth running of the plant, including supporting new and efficient working systems, strategies and training as required. You’ll also…
- Be responsible for the day to day control of planned and non-planned maintenance activities carried out across the manufacturing site.
- Support and manage a team of Engineers
- Communicate priorities to shift team, conduct daily reviews, produce plans, agreeing targets and performance indicators
- Respond to work requests and generate work orders
- Provide technical support for contractors and ensure they are fully aware of their responsibilities whilst working on the site. This includes carrying out site inductions and verification of risk assessments and method statements
- Work safely, with regard for your duty of care to yourself and to others who may be affected by your work. Adhere to company policies and procedures at all times
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
It’s a given that you will have experience of working and leading a team within in a busy maintenance department, ideally within a food manufacturing department. We're also looking for…
- L3 qualified in an Engineering discipline
- Food hygiene awareness
- Practical engineering experience including legislation.
- Health and Safety - IOSH qualified
- Lean manufacturing maintenance practices
- Have an innovative approach to problem solving, using own initiative.
- Computer literate (Microsoft Windows / Microsoft Office)

WHERE WILL I WORK?
Our Hull plant is where we make all our cheesy appetites, and even if you think you haven’t tasted our products before, because of our large portfolio of foodservice establishments, it’s likely you probably have! Our small, but perfectly formed team of around 100 make everything from halloumi fries to chilli cheese nuggets.
