The Best Connection are proud to be working with our longstanding client based in Acton to recruit a Quality Assurance Technologist on an ongoing and potential temp to perm basis.
Hours of Work:
- Will be 09:00-15:00 Monday to Friday
Requirements will include but not be limited to:
- To be the day-to-day shop-floor lead, providing a good example of food safety and quality best practise to all staff.
- To check that staff are completing, recording, documenting and filing their assigned quality checks of the warehouse and production areas.
- To ensure that both you and the staff are following the written hygiene and housekeeping policies, procedures and rules of the company.
- To investigate and undertake the root cause analysis of all customer complaints, informing all interested stakeholders of the corrective action plan to reduce future complaints.
- To validate the hygiene cleaning undertaken by cleaners.
- To ensure that stocks of cleaning chemicals and PPE are replenished by suppliers in a timely manner.
- To complete any technical requests for information submitted by the customers of Cool Chile.
- To undertake periodic internal audits of the site and inform management and the responsible person of any non-compliances, including agreeing the corrective action and timescales.
- To be a member of and take an active part in the companies HACCP team.
- To take and prepare samples of goods inwards raw materials as well as finished products and send to the laboratories for analysis.
- To reject, quarantine/place on hold and items which are not conforming to the companies written specifications.
- To ensure that all risk assessed equipment, such as weighing scales, temperature probes, pH meters are internally calibrated as per the declared frequency.
- To check for any potential risks for the ingress or spread of pests and take immediate action should pests or pest activity be found.
- To check the labels and finished for correctness of information, sealing, batch code and dates.
- To participate in NPD projects as and when they take place.
- To actively take part in providing feedback back to Management on any suggestions for improvement in the business.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A Bachelor’s degree (2:2 or higher) or equivalent higher level diploma in Food Science/Engineering/Technology or related subject.
- Previous experience of working in a food manufacturing environment, as well as recent vocational qualifications (such as Level 2 Food Safety in Manufacturing) is an advantage, but not essential, as training will be provided.
