Job Description

Have you just started your career within the world of "Buying"? Are you looking to work and build on your career with a Market Leading company? Be given the opportunity to develop your skills and use your knowledge to ensure that the company's operational needs are met. Have the opportunity to be involved with the buying process considering price, quality, and delivery and ensuring continuity of supply. If the answer is "yes" then Banham are looking for a Buying Assistant to join their Procurement Team. This is a Hybrid role, based in the office three days a week and two days working from home.

What can you bring to Banham?


  • Experience in a commercial role and/or retail experience
  • Numerate with good analytical skills, alongside excellent PC skills, in particular, Excel to an intermediate level (key requirement)
  • Able to communicate at all levels both written and verbally.
  • Have a good level of commercial awareness
  • Experience working closely with suppliers
  • You will have a fantastic ability to build relationships with suppliers and distributors
  • Have experience in adding value, reducing costs, and being able to provide input to business improvements
  • Be driven and thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment, working to tight deadlines
  • Your time management skills will enable you to manage your time effectively, prioritising tasks and achieving set targets
  • Bringing your keen attention to detail and accuracy will ensure you can rectify mistakes quickly
  • A proactive person who is self-aware, optimistic, and eager to develop.
  • Some of the key skills & knowledge you will also need will be
    • Buying systems such as X3
    • RFQ's
    • PO's
    • Quotes and Pricing
    • Updating and adding suppliers to the CRM system.
