What will you be doing as a Warehouse Supervisor?
- Overseeing a small team of warehouse loaders
- Motivate and manage the team to achieve/exceed on performance
- Effective management of resources to achieve KPI’s; cost, quality, service and absence
- Conduct regular individual reviews and where necessary agree an improvement plan
- Process control of orders, loading/tipping of vehicles including a returns operation
- Aid and assist with the development & continuous improvement for all warehouse colleagues and processes
- Daily reporting to both the warehouse and transport management systems
- Ensuring high standards are met in line with Ikea’s quality processes
- Responsible for loading standards and ensuring vehicles are safe and secure to avoid damage during transit
- Ensure Safe Systems of Work processes are followed in the line with site Health and Safety regulations
Relevant skills and experience as a Transport Supervisor:
- Previous experience in supervisory role within warehousing is essential
- LLOP/Counter Balance/Reach Truck/PPT Licenses are desirable
- Strong IT skills including MS Office and the ability to use the warehouse and transport management systems
- Strong communication skills both written and verbally
- Positive and flexible approach
- Able to work on own initiative and comfortable in working to deadlines
- Physically able to assist in the movement of goods which may include bending, stretching, stooping, stepping, reaching and lifting in line with Health and Safety regulations
