Job Description
The AV Operations Lead is responsible for being the lead member and main point of contact of NBCU International operational activities. This can range from running live and virtual events and meeting room support to being responsible for troubleshooting faults and working with AV Engineering and AV vendors to support physical deployments within NBCU locations. This role requires a highly organised individual who can work independently and proactively but also flexibly to support business requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Providing expert knowledge within AV to London HQ but also acting as a technical advisor and escalation point for all international locations.
- Video Conferencing Support – Providing meeting set ups and technical assistance when required.
- Event Support – Main contact providing technical event set ups and managing productions such as Town Halls, Social Events and Panels.
- Performing and leading proactive room checks based on business and team processes.
- Resolving AV issues in meeting rooms and being the escalation point between junior members and engineering.
- Providing hands on project support to installations and deployment projects.
- Ensuring AV documentation is accurate and updated frequently.
- Leading and creating training sessions and materials for customers on best practice and AV processes.
- Managing AV vendors and ensuring timely resolution of AV issues that have been outsourced.
- Tracing network related faults in relation to AV equipment.
- Management of AV Mailbox, ServiceNow queue and other sources of information.
- Working with IT team to ensure joint effort to resolve technical issues.
- Escalation point for International AV issues acting as a AV ServiceDesk for all locations feeding into the VNOC.
- Responsible for owning all business-as-usual activities outside of capital funded projects.
- Occasional out of hours work such as power down activities.
Qualifications
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
- Exceptional knowledge of Microsoft Teams, Tandberg, Cisco TMS and VCS, SX series codecs and Telepresence, VOIP, SIP, H323, Creston, Polycom Endpoints (HDX/VVX/RMX), AMX and AV cloud collaboration solutions.
- Configure, support, troubleshoot and resolve issues associated with Audio Visual hardware and software.
- Experience installing AV hardware such as TV’s, structured cabling, and other AV equipment such as processors and Video Conferencing equipment in corporate environments.
- Experience with IPTV solutions and understanding of backbone technology.
- Experience supporting and managing digital signage screens physically and from a central server.
- Experience providing event support ranging from PA system installs and managing multiple screens to offering technical guidance on how to run productions and video reels etc.
- High level understanding of AV signal flows and networking.
- Excellent verbal and written skills.
- Experience of creating and updating documentation and user guides.
- Ability to create/review technical drawings such as elevations and schematics.
- Desirable – Ability to use CAD.
- Able to work independently but also part of a small team interfacing with other resource groups such as Facilities, Engineering, and IT.
