Whether you are looking to start a new career in healthcare or are already an experienced Healthcare Assistant/Support Worker through the NHS or private sector you’ll receive all necessary training where you’ll work together and be valued and supported There’s flexibility on offer, with full time, part time, weekend hours and bank opportunities at our service. Part time hours are commenced after completing a 2 week full time induction at the service. What you will be doing As a Healthcare Assistant you will join a supportive team that works well together to provide care to people with neurological conditions. Residents at St Neots Neurological Centre have varying needs, from being able to manage some of their own needs and learning new skills to increase their level of independence, to being fully reliant. This includes personal care involving washing, dressing, shaving and helping with continence needs. Helping residents to eat is also a big part of the daily routine, we do also care for patients with challenging behaviours. There’s plenty of fun to be had too, through supporting patients to take part in regular community activities, like accessing local leisure centres, and supporting residents to shop and budget, to also supporting patients to engage with activities within the hospital. We have a full therapy team at the service which our Healthcare assistants help and support with other fun activities like cooking, baking and using sensory equipment. Its these precious moments that are most rewarding and make it all worthwhile. Overall, as a Healthcare Assistant at St Neots you will use your knowledge and skills to support people to lead a valued and fulfilled life. The full time permanent shifts work on 5 shifts one week and 2 shifts the following week. We are also offering part time permanent roles at the weekend as well as Night shifts. Where you will be working Location: Howitts Lane, Eynesbury, St Neots, Cambridge, Pe19 2JA Join the team at St Neots Hospital providing care, therapeutic and rehabilitation pathways for those affected by a neurological or mental health condition for which challenging behaviour may be the leading impairment. St Neots Hospital is located in the centre of town and provides assessment, treatment, rehabilitation and complex care for both males and females suffering from a broad range of neurological conditions, which is provided by a highly experienced team based on site. We have four separate wards within the hospitals which you would be based on.
