Role: Financial Analyst
Salary: From £35,000 per annum, negotiable dependant on experience
Contract: 12 month FTC
Location: Hybrid - flexibility to work from home or at any of our main hubs (London, Bristol, Manchester and Harwell)

About the role:

Finance Reporting
This role sits within the finance reporting team, but will be allocated to work on the Licensing Review and Enhancement Programme. The finance reporting team supports Jisc by providing prudent and effective financial information and advice. The team is responsible for financial planning, budgeting and forecasting and in year management accounts at group, directorate and service levels.

The Licensing Review & Enhancement Programme
The way Jisc Licensing operates is changing; demand for our services is increasing, but team structures, processes and systems have not kept pace. The Licensing Review and Enhancement Programme will create an environment that helps people do a great job and build rewarding careers. It will give our members a broader choice of vendor solutions – underpinned by data and intelligence, which they will access more simply, providing greater opportunity for revenue generation.

You will support the Finance Business Partner for the Licensing Review and Enhancement Programme deliver a project to review the business models for Licensing services and produce a three-year financial plan that will deliver a sustainable increase in revenue.

Responsibilities will include:
  • Help identify and group existing licensing agreements according to their method of income collection, pricing and discount approach.
  • Document the pricing approach and create a rate card for the costs associated with each group.
  • These groupings will inform the creation of standardised discrete archetypes that could be applied to future licensing agreements.
  • Model alternative pricing plans for each archetype
  • Model different combinations/clusters of models to determine a three-year financial plan
  • Support the creation of the three-year financial plan

Key Skills and Experience:
  • Comfortable translating financial information into clear concise reports and presentations for finance and non-finance colleagues;
  • Strong expertise in Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas, pivot tables, data visualisation, and financial modelling.
  • Proven experience in financial modelling, preferably in a similar role within a complex, data-driven environment.
  • Part qualified accountant (ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA, ICAS, ICAI)

Nice To Have
  • Experience in not for profit sector
  • Fully qualified accountant with post qualification experience (ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA, ICAS, ICAI)
